Birthday bash
I don't know about you, but birthdays can be a touchy subject for me. Especially when it comes to my own birthday. This may stem from the fact that I have a couple of traumatic (?) memories associated with my birthdays, like that one time in college when only 1 of my close friends could make it to my birthday dinner, as the rest had to cancel in the last minute... Then again, at least I had a friend who I got to celebrate with. What if my birthday comes and no one even knows about it, and I simply cannot afford to celebrate on my own? Unfortunately, I think it is safe to assume that this "what if" scenario is a reality for so many people, even in our own region. According to a recent survey, on Ja nuary 28, 2016 there were 1,059 people who were homeless in the Fairfax-Falls Church community.
